need a vacation?

Board Your Bunnies with EBC

We’ll care for your rabbits while you’re away

We understand the struggles of being a busy bunny parent. Rabbits are not well suited to traveling and are hard to find proper accommodations for. Make your vacation, work trip or other necessary travel a little less stressful by boarding your rabbit(s) with us!

Rabbits may board in our secure, climate-controlled rescue facility in Ellington, CT or, when available, in the home of a trained volunteer. Our dedicated volunteer team will care for your rabbit(s) daily in our rescue space.

Booking

Space is Limited! We book on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please fill out the boarding application at least 2 weeks prior to your intended boarding start date and allow up to 3 business days for review of your application.

We will attempt to accommodate last-minute bookings, but please understand our space may already be full.

All boarders must complete an application for review. Upon review, we will reach out via email to coordinate your rabbit(s)’s stay. A signed contract and payment are required in advance. Boarding bookings are not finalized until we receive your signed contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my rabbit eligible for boarding?

All rabbit(s) boarding with Everybunny Counts must have a wellness exam that has been completed in the last 12 months. Up to date RHDV-2 vaccination is NOW REQUIRED due to a recent local outbreak. Those who have already booked for June and July will not be turned away, but should still actively seek vaccination for their safety.

What do I need to provide?

Owner(s) are responsible for informing Everybunny Counts in their boarding application with accurate and detailed information regarding the needs and care for their rabbit(s) such as past medical history, active medical concerns or medication needs, and any behavioral considerations. Failure to do so may inhibit Everybunny Counts ability to effectively care for rabbit(s) boarding at their facility.

Owners are also required to provide a carrier for each rabbit to be used in case of emergency.

What is not included in the above listed fees?

Should a Board member determine that a boarding rabbit(s) require more than minor medical care while boarding, a $10 per night additional medical fee may be applied per applicable rabbit.

(Boarding fees may be adjusted based upon other factors such as medical need of the rabbit(s), or other requested services provided such as nail trims, de-matting, and other grooming needs.)

Can you accommodate my rabbit’s specific dietary needs?

Should the owner decide that they want specific food or other supplies for their rabbit(s) during their stay, it must be paid for and provided by the owner(s). Electing to provide supplies will not result in decreased boarding fees.

If specific items provided by owners are not sufficient to cover the duration of the boarding, the facility will make an attempt to contact owner(s) or emergency contact to see if owner(s) would like to use products supplied by the facility or reimburse the facility for purchase of specific products requested. If unable to be contacted, EBC will utilize supplies readily available in the facility.

What steps are taken to assure my rabbit’s safety?

● Only trained volunteers are permitted to enter/access the facility and care for rabbit(s) being boarded.
● Facility will utilize rabbit safe cleaning supplies in the pen and cage area.
● Facility has a security monitoring system in place to ensure safety of animals in case of emergency.
● Facility will not permit boarded rabbit(s) to interact with any other rabbits during their stay to prevent the possibility of illness, injury, etc. Boarded rabbits will be housed upstairs in office space on separate floor from rescue rabbits.

How do you handle emergencies?

Owner(s) are responsible to provide information in their boarding application regarding how to contact them during their stay and the contact for one emergency contact. Owner(s) consent to permit their emergency contact designated in their boarding application to make decisions regarding the care and treatment of the rabbit(s) in an urgent or life threatening situation if owner(s) cannot be reached.

**Families will be responsible for veterinary bills incurred for the care of their rabbit should any medical emergencies (including but not limited to stasis, head tilt, diarrhea) occur during their rabbits(s)’s stay**

Everybunny Counts will utilize Star Meadow
Animal Clinic, Bolton Veterinary Hospital or Pieper Veterinary for medical care and provide transportation to and from this care as required.

Who is liable if my rabbit gets injured or sick?

By using our boarding services, you recognize that there is an inherent degree of risk involved in temporarily housing a rabbit, even in perfect conditions. We make every attempt possible to provide a safe environment and exceptional care for the rabbits in our facility, but we cannot guarantee that accidents will not occur.

You will be required to sign a contract indemnifying Everybunny Counts for any injury, illness or death that occurs during the duration of your rabbit’s stay with us.

You can view our boarding contract in full here.

Prosecco is the sister of our sweet Chardonnay and had been bonded with her. We would love to find Prosecco another mate to bond with! She’s a gentle, sweet girl who has come a long way socially after being found as a stray as a baby in Beacon Falls. Prosecco is very food motivated and has been known to circle your feet while waiting for her pellets! She hasn’t met a treat she doesn’t like, and she’s great about eating hay.

If you thought Fruit Gusher was lost in the sauce, If you thought Fruit Gusher was lost in the sauce, he had nothing on Elora 🤪 she’s found her own island in the sun somewhere

Elora is our Teddywidder (designer mutt genetic disaster) rabbit we took in with the idea she would be a sanctuary bun. She tried not once but THRICE to binky across the bridge when her rescuers tried to have her spayed. However, our amazing vet partner Dr. Helton was able to come up with a new anesthesia procedure and successfully spayed Elora a couple weeks ago! This means our favorite walking dust mop is now available for adoption. We’ll do a proper adoption feature for her soon, but we simply had to feature her for Tongue Out Tuesday first!

If you are interested in adopting Elora, the 🔗 with all the information as well as our adoption form can be found in the usual spot. Or comment “Cyborg” below and we’ll send it to you directly!

This Monday Bunday, meet fabulous fluffy Ferb! Fe This Monday Bunday, meet fabulous fluffy Ferb!

Ferb came in with his brother after being found as a stray in Winchester. He has proven to be a funny, curious, and outgoing boy. He can occasionally still get spooked by sudden, loud noises, but he has come a long way! Ferb will need a family dedicated to keeping his fluff clean, and a low-entry litterbox would be a plus. He would also love space to explore and a play tunnel to lounge in, along with someone to give him lots of pets.

Want to add this fabulous adventurer to your life? Check out all the adoption info at the 🔗 in our b!0
