Noel’s diagnosis from Dr. Battiston: 100% good b Noel’s diagnosis from Dr. Battiston: 100% good boy, with two VERY painful and expensive ears.

If you’ve been to more than one or two of our events, you have likely met Noel! This handsome devil is EBC’s longest-term resident; we rescued him in December 2022. He immediately earned sanctuary bunny status due to his inoperable inner ear abscess, and chronic staph infections in both of his ears. Despite this, Noel is a hoppy and outgoing boy. He earns his keep around here by being present at most of our educational events, helping us catch strays, and playing uncle to our constant litters of baby bunnies.

Noel had his annual checkup today, and as expected, his ears are just about as bad as they could be. It has been a while since we last cultured the infection in Noel’s ears; while he initially presented with MRSA, we eventually controlled it to morph into a moderately threatening staph infection. Submitting another culture will tell us if it is time to start him on a different antibiotic. We were also able to flush and laser his ear canals today, which will provide him more comfort and maybe get some hearing back!

Noel also got his RHDV vaccine last weekend; the total for all of his vet care this month is over $500! We need help covering the cost of our best boy’s bill. Noel is without a doubt the most recognizable bun in our rescue, and he gives his foster mommy a reason to keep saving more rabbits like him every day.

If you can DONATE to Noel’s care costs, please do so here: http://tinyurl.com/everybunnycounts

If money is tight, you can drive engagement by SHARING or leaving a COMMENT on this post taking a guess at Noel’s middle name!

“Do you think it’s forever?”

Not a TS Easter Egg, but certainly an Easter Bunny. Remember Opalite from earlier in the week? Today our search and rescue team caught her sister, Elizabunth Taylor. While our rescue is already overwhelmed with mature females, we are glad that this abandoned pair are the same sex! Elizabunth is in much better shape than Opalite was at rescue, though she is too nervous to take a treat or eat tonight. She handled her flea treatment and took fluids liked a champ.

We are maxed out financially and have no open foster homes- these young gals, abandoned outside at under a year old- are at the rescue because we don’t currently have families for them to decompress with. Can you help?

After countless sleepless onyx nights, Opalite is finally safe. 🌙
Our amazing search and rescue team, Kayleigh and Molly, caught her roaming the streets of Manchester, CT after weeks of neighbors feeding her carrots and watching her play with wild rabbits.

Opalite came to us covered in fleas and ticks, with an ear infection and dental malocclusion. She’s now resting safely in quarantine, finally warm, safe, and cared for. 💕

She’s one of many stray bunnies we’ve been called about this week, and we’re struggling to keep up. We urgently need foster homes and donations to help rabbits like Opalite heal.

🐇💌 If you can DONATE or FOSTER, please visit the link in bio to help.
